Sailing into the Future…
my-VIOS is the FIRST VALID Portable Individual Seafarer Employee Digital File, inclusive of their Work History and Health Record folder, in the form of a USB card, owned by the individual.
A globally unique approach, which facilitates fast and reliable individual seafarer employee screening by ensuring validity of information stored in the card, to introduce transformational change, expedite screening processes and eliminate unjustified health claim reimbursements.
my-VIOS is designed to securely collect and safely store an individual’s Personal Data inclusive of Personal Identification information, medical information, work history and more, regardless the software the Provider uses, to avail unrestricted, 24/7, global data review, ensuring at the same time data safety, security, validity and reliability.
Each USB card presents a unique Serial Number and Primary Key, which allow the remote and secure identification of the card. The card contains an encrypted database and software specifically designed to access this database to “read” encoded data.
my-VIOS Seafarer card is plug and play, with no specific hardware or software requirements and no restrictions/prerequisites in regards to operational systems. To further ensure data validity and security an online platform (VIOS House), manages every step of the process and archives the full history of my-VIOS cards (Registration Date, Activation Date and Data Synchronization Diary).
A Provider, Ship-Owner, P&I or other, provides a my-VIOS card to each individual employee or member, in which ALL their personal information (including the “fit n well” report) is stored. my-VIOS providers have access to VIOS Cloud (a Web Platform Software) via which they can manage my-VIOS card operation and “release” information into my-VIOS cards. Data upload into the cards is performed via a Wizard, noting that no one is involved in the process, resulting in operational cost reduction and efficiency enhancement (noting that all information is in digital form).
The process has been developed with Safety and Security as top priorities, in full respect of the privacy of sensitive individual information, facilitating GDPR compliance.
